Bottle Market 2018

Visit Bremen’s Whisk(e)y Fair

Do you like a good scotch or are you more of a bourbon-type? Do you like the sweetness of a sherry cask finish alongside an exclusive cigar or would you prefer a smoky Islay whisky? Are you a traditionalist or are you curious about German distilleries and lively waters from Scandinavia or Down Under?

Whatever you prefer – we have everything ready for you to journey into an exclusive world of whisk(e)y.

During three days you can explore the variety of Uisge Beatha in a cozy atmosphere. In hall 4 manufacturers, importers, independent bottlers and retailers are waiting for your visit, and are eager for exciting conversations and of course your thirst (for knowledge).

Explore new bottlings and whisk(e)y rarities or get to know the tasteful range of well-known brands. For friends of the British-Irish lifestyle we also have something in store. Next to live music and talks you will also find Celtic jewelry or delights like fudge, haggis and whisk(e)y pralines.

+++ ONCE MORE this year: +++
BOTTLE MARKET has grown and been enriched by international premium wines, delicacies and fine chocolates. In hall 4 a huge world of tasteful delights awaits you to explore.

We are looking forward to you and a delightful BOTTLE MARKET weekend.

Festival Bottling 2017

Scotland’s finest!

This year BOTTLE MARKET offers you two festival bottlings and they have quite some things in common!

Both are cask strength single malt whiskys with 52 %. They are from Scotland and exclusive single cask bottlings. Both non coloured and non chill filtered. There name starts with an A and ends with ‘more’ – and that makes sense, because they definitely taste like ‘more’!

+++ Have a taste during the fair: visit the booth from Scotch-Club Bremen +++

ARDMORE 16 yr.

An Islay whisky that is none – but tastes like it!

The alcohol is nicely integrated between a subtle smoke and lots of fruit. Tangy with currants, cider flavours, some salt and driftwood rises in the nose. Oak, delicate smoke, beautiful vanilla notes and a touch of mint are coming up.

Kicks in powerfully, a lot of tastes at once – rich lemon fruits, green apple, delicate oak and again some smoke, sweet vannilla and a delicate note of cocoa. Complexe flavours that get earthy and mellow sweet when thinned with water.

Long lasting and more dry than expected – white wine, rather fruity sweet in the beginning, then spicey, slightly oily with nutty salt notes.

Price/bottle: € 82

A liquit sweet für real connoisseurs!

Beautifully complex and balanced, slightly floral. Caramelised sugar, dry fruits like dates, apricots and raisins please the nose. Elegant leathery notes with fresh soil, however velvety and with hints of chocolate.

The alcohol hides, is noticable in the breath. Kicks in creamy and aromatic – green apple, a light woody, sweet-sour note – reminds of liquorice, then Crème Brûlée. “The malt is absolutely seductive and encourages you to take more of it!”

Long lasting with rich fruits – apricot kernels, followed by honey gingerbread and a certain dry bitterness. Still sweet with delicate leather flavours and a oily creaminess.

Price/bottle: € 69

TastingsExplore the fine world of Whisk(e)y

What would a Whisk(e)y exhibition be without various tastings.
This year you can choose between ten different, exclusive tastings.

Everything from peaty to award-winning to chocolaty and American – all tastes will find their likings.
One or the other tasting will be hosted by distillery representatives, such as Angela D’Orazion,
the master blender of Mackmyra Svensk Whisky or Paul Dempsey, Commercial Director Speyside Distillers.

Let yourself be enthralled and learn about the process of distilling and the storage of the uisge beatha.

Additionally we are offering a rum tasting, which takes you on a journey through the world of the sugarcane.

The tastings as part of the BOTTLE MARKET 2016 will take one hour and 15 minutes. (Participants must be over 18)

Further information will be published here starting September.

BOTTLE MARKET weekend trip – a perfect start into the Christmas season

BOTTLE MARKET has been established in 2014 as an additional theme for Christmas & MORE and has been perfectly scheduled on the weekend prior to the first advent. Both parts of the exhibition benefit from an extraordinary atmosphere, christmasy and cosy. Hand crafts, culinary art, gift ideas and whisk(e)ys are twinkling in the warm lights of festively decorated halls.
This atmosphere invites to tasting and enjoying whisk(e)y, but also to relaxed shopping or a first gift brainstorming. Maybe this year the Christmas season might actually start relaxed! This weekend certainly is a wonderful opportunity to buy the right whisk(e)y for comfy winter evenings and to already snatch one or the other Christmas present for your loved ones.

Take the chance and use the visit to BOTTLE MARKET to stroll around the city center of Bremen as well. The hanseatic city ever since has a strong connection with the international wine and spirit trade, therefore exploring is worth it. The town hall in the heart of the city has been declared a World Cultural Heritage by UNESECO and its cellar holds Germany’s biggest wine collection. Aside from spirits and wine, beer should not be ignored. A tour at the Beck’s brewery offers an insight into the craft of beer making.

Welcome to the BOTTLE MARKET!

At events where alcohol is served we as organisers have to pay attention to a lot of things.

For a relaxed and enjoyable visit at the BOTTLE MARKET, we listed some points, which are important for you to notice.

  1. The target group is adult customers, consequential the law for protection of children and youth for serving and selling drinks and consuming cigars at our lounge (admittance 18+) will be observed.
  2. Our gastronomic offer provides a good foundation for your tastings. Please make sure to drink enough water inbetween the whisk(e)y tastings for a long enjoyable stay at the BOTTLE MARKET.
  3. Our exhibitors are instructed to stop serving alcohol to obviously drunk people.
  4. In case of a strongly intoxicated person we will make use of our householder’s rights. This person will be expelled from the halls, in order to secure a further peaceful event. In case of an expulsion, you do not have the right to enter the halls again or claim back the entrance fee.
  5. Please note that the bottles and products you bought at the exhibition stands are not destined for on site consumption and therefore this is prohibited.
  6. And remember „After Whisk(e)y driving risky!“. The Bremen Exhibition Centre is located right in the heart of the city and in direct neighbourhood to the main station with it’s public transport system. So the car may stay in the garage.

We appreciate your understanding and wish you a pleasant day with nice contacts, great relish and a lot of joy.
